Anyone into this?
A great 5th day where England managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat. _________________ 18 + 5 = Other clubs dreams.

Was a little funny seeing Ponting having a winge on SSN.
He would have done the same thing & He knows it. No sportsmanship in Siddle (sid vicious is his nick-name) bowling at Swann's arm causing treatment required 3 times & an intervention from the Umpire?
The tension is rising... Wonder what the odds are for a scrap between Pieterson & Michael Johnson after their little stand-off?
Didn't the Aussies bat out in the first test in 2005 to get the draw? Well done monty & anderson for hanging in there.
But, now must do better on Thursday in the 2nd test. _________________ Wanted, Sense of Humour. Lost in Liverpool, but would like to get it back. |

2nd test day 1 & 2
A captains innings of 161 plus good support from 10 & 11 gave England a respectable 425. Poor showing from the middle order which otherwise could have put us in an even stronger position.
Anderson then followed his good batting performance by getting out opening batsman Hughes & captain Rickey ponting and the score was a remarkable 2-10.
Australia regained some pride and took the score to 103 before the next man went but when bad light stopped play the game was still in Englands favour and 156 for 8 was the score at the end of day 2.
Australia wont reach the runs required to stop the follow on so its up to England to make the right choice tomorrow when that time comes.
Exciting stuff _________________ 18 + 5 = Other clubs dreams.

2nd test day 3
Australia are bowled out for 215 leaving England 210 ahead.
Strauss decides to bat but when England lose both openers for 74 it may have been the wrong decion.
Things could have been a lot worse with Bopara & Peiterson looking very nervous. Both had lucky escapes thnaks to Audssie captain Ricky Ponting who dropped one ayt slips then missd the stumps from short range.
They managed to recover some composure and after both were out it was 174 for 4.
Collingwood, Prior & Freddie Flintofff increased the much needed run rate (and excitment) & when rain stopped play the day ended with England on 311 for 6, a massive lead of 521 _________________ 18 + 5 = Other clubs dreams.

2nd test day 4
A flying start by Fredie Flintoff saw him get the opening 2 wickets and at lunch Aussies were 76 for 2 however replays confirmed that neither batsman should have been out.
NOt as exciting as the 3 previous days and at tea Aussies were 178 for 5 whiuch incuded Pontings wicket.
Clark & Haddin had a great partnership of 125 & 80 and with no more wickets down, bad light stopped play with the Aussies ending the day on 313 for 5, a figure which looked unreachable at lunch.
Day 5 will be very interesting. Australia still need 209 more runs to win with 5 wickets in hand so its important that England get an early wicket.
Its going to be an interesting day and if these two are still at the wicket lunchtime then the nerves will take over on both sides. _________________ 18 + 5 = Other clubs dreams.

Freddie " 5 wickets" Flintoff will take all the glory but an all around decent display gives England the lead in the ashes with Australia bowled out & over 100 runs short of Englands total.
